Derwent Executive proved to be a partner who listened, analysed and advised. They met the brief by presenting a range of diverse and relevant candidates that ultimately delivered a quality hiring result.
Derwent Executive and the process ran by Mike O'Sullivan provided a great selection of external CFO candidates and an impartial process for us to fairly assess them against our own internal applicants that demonstrated good practice to all involved and the best possible appointment.
Derwent Executive provide an excellent ongoing service. They take the time to understand the culture of the organisation and the people within it. Derwent executive can be relied upon to provide a strong list of highly suitable candidates.
I have enjoyed a strong relationship with Sally Langer and the Perth team over many years. Professional service, honest dialogue with urgency and transparency.
Derwent Executive provides a highly effective, professional recruitment service by taking the time to understand your culture and using their fantastic networks to source people who will be a great fit. Highly recommended.
I have always found my experiences with Derwent to be a very good collaborative approach to drive the most successful outcome. They listen to your requirements, take the time to understand the business and ensure candidate fit with the values and non-negotiable competencies required for the role that they are looking to fill.
Brookfield Rail has worked extensively and closely with the team at Derwent with great success over many years. Sally Langer and her team have continued to deliver great results for our business and we really enjoy working with them.
Derwent Perth has delivered significant value over many years. Their ability to understand organisational culture and role requirements mixed with expert knowledge of the market and candidates have allowed Sally, Julie and the team to continuously introduce great talent at crucial times.
I have known Sally Langer and the Perth team for several years. Derwent has assisted with some key appointments to BC Iron and I have always found their approach professional, timely and most importantly, specifically customised to the Company and the role.
Working with Mat Newman has always been a pleasure as he has a terrific balance between providing strategic insights, 'black-hatting' alternatives when necessary and running a tight process, all with a relaxed and amiable style. In the often challenging environment of recruiting the best executive for your organization, I could not recommend Mat Newman more highly.
Mat Newman is an outstanding executive recruiter because of his ability to intuitively understand the needs of a business, and then leverage his extensive networks to quickly find the best person to meet the requirements. More than once, Mat’s insights have added real value in filling challenging roles for me and my organisations by working with me to better define position requirements and then quickly building a short-list of the right candidates. Most importantly, I have found all the candidates sourced by Mat to be highly reliable and excellent at what they do.
I worked with Andrew McEncroe and Derwent Executive for an important Investor Relations role in a previous job. We wanted to go outside the basket of ‘usual suspects’ to find a different type of candidate. Andrew and his team sourced a highly skilled expat in London, who was subsequently appointed to the role. Throughout the search, Andrew kept me up to date with potential candidates and I always appreciated his frank assessment of their positives and negatives. He also took the time to understand the needs of the organisation and to ensure there was a strong cultural alignment – he didn’t just try to jam a square peg in a round hole. I’d happily recommend him as a recruiter for a role in the communications area.
Over the last few months I have had the privilege and pleasure to work closely with Winnie Wan. Not only have I found Winnie to be reliable but also a good judge of character. She will not hesitate to think outside the square to deliver the best outcome for her clients. In addition, she is punctual and follows the process, highlighting all the details at every step. I certainly recommend Winnie and her team to any future clients or candidates.
I highly recommend Dianne Williams from Derwent Executive. I have worked with Dianne since 2006 and she has placed 18 consultants in our internal strategy and consulting team at Macquarie. Dianne stands apart from the many other recruitment consultants i have dealt with over this period. She has a deep understanding of the Management Consulting landscape in Australia and the needs of internal strategy teams. In tight markets she has also sourced many successful candidates from offshore. Her understanding of our team's culture is strong and she is a good judge of candidates' fit. These attributes result in highly effective candidate identification and screening for our team. We rarely see candidates from Dianne that do not progress beyond first round interviews.
I have known the team of consultants at Derwent Executives for a few years, and they are all highly effective professionals who would go an extra mile to help their clients. I am always confident with each candidate profile Derwent Executive send through, knowing they take the time to screen and measure competencies & cultural fit for our organization. I am also impressed with their working style, never too pushy, however remain assertive over areas they feel they need to insist on, which also challenges me or my company to think from different perspectives. All in all I am happy to work with Derwent Executive, and I look forward to having more assignments with them in future.
